I'm Jamie Hansen.
I create art and illustrations that are rich in detail and saturated with color. I love the mercurial nature of the watercolor medium and I'm mesmerized by how the paint continues to move over wet paper after I have lifted my brush. My goal is to leave only passages of color and traces of motion when my paint dries.
Current Series: My Music Series
I create detailed, colorful watercolor illustrations. My art is accurate, like a scientific illustration, but filled with energy and color.
My Music Series started after I married my high school sweetheart, who’s a music educator. I am not a musician, but I’ve spent years surrounded by music, concerts, and instruments. My goal is to capture the feeling of the music I hear through color, line, and visual form.
