Iris on Blue-Gray is an original watercolor painting of an iris, drawn from a white flower I photographed along the roadside during a run in Anderson, South Carolina.
This iris has become one of my favorite subjects to return to when testing new materials. In this version, soft yellow petals and loose ink-like linework sit against a moody blue-gray crystalline watercolor background by Jackman’s, giving the piece a mineral, atmospheric quality.
- Medium: Professional watercolor on 300# hot press paper
- Dimensions: Original is 12.5" x 7"
- Pigment Note: Painted with Jackman's crystalline watercolor in blue-gray
- Signed on the front and includes a certificate of authenticity
