Bassoon in Blueberry

The bassoon is the longest woodwind in the orchestra, and painting it requires a tall, narrow composition that follows its natural architecture. I painted this piece in deep, saturated blueberry tones, using the rich color to highlight the silver keys and the distinctive curve of the instrument.

The original was painted on Arches 300 lb hot press paper.
