Bass Flute in Sunset Mist

This seldom-seen bass flute curves through luminous washes of Sunset Mist, a multi-pigment watercolor paint that looks purple and separates into orange and ultramarine on the page.

This may be the first bass flute I have painted, and I loved capturing the way light travels along the instrument's details.
