This original painting is done on rough textured 300 lb watercolor paper with deckled edges. The rough surface gives the color a different quality than hot press, more texture in the washes, more movement in the edges. The yellow palette is warm and saturated, and the cello's curves hold the color well against the natural white of the paper.
