Alto Clef in Moonglow
Regular price$30.00 Sale price

Musical notation is full of elegant lines and meaningful symbols. The clef tells us where to find a note on the staff, to help us find our way around the music. The alto clef is used primarily by the viola, and it is a beautiful symbol.
For this painting I used Daniel Smith's Moonglow, a pigment that shifts from deep blue to subtle violet as it dries. The way it moves on Arches 300lb hot press paper creates a serene, layered atmosphere that suits the graceful curves of the clef.
