This pared-back study of a pedal steel guitar lets graphite, violet, and sea-green washes move between its strings and hardware.
It took three attempts to remove everything the painting did not need and leave just enough to identify the instrument. I am grateful to Donna for sending me the reference that inspired it. Sorry, I didn't finish it in time for your conference, Donna!
